Reading list
Your clinical supervisors will suggest some suitable books. It is a good idea to get in the habit of reading at least the BMJ regularly as well as other journals related to general practice.
There are a number of ‘magazines’ that are useful sources of information and debate on GP related issues as well as educational material e.g. GP, Pulse, Update, Doctor etc.
The majority of GP relevant literature and resources are now available electronically. It is a good idea to make sure that you have an Athens password ready for computer access wherever you are working and start building your own electronic library. Please go to the Mayday intranet and follow the link Departments / Library / How to access Electronic Journals/ www.hilo.nhs.uk and you can register yourself. You can also just go directly to www.hilo.nhs.uk
The Library has books related to general practice and primary care. The programme directors have a small library and would be pleased to suggest reading material.
