Work – life Balance

Stress is an inevitable part medicine and some jobs are very busy. Some challenge and pressure adds excitement and may be motivating, but, too much (as judged by the individual) may be overwhelming and adversely affect mental and physical health and performance.

Some tips for avoiding work related stress:-

  • Maintain and/or develop your social interests outside the hospital
  • Register with a local GP practice
  • Recognise stress early and develop your own individual ways of responding to it and respond
  • Seek help sooner rather than later if you need it.
