In this post the SHO works in community general adult psychiatry as part of a multidisciplinary team providing a service for a catchment population of about 26,000. This post is based with the rest of the multidisciplinary team at Tamworth Road Resource Centre in central Croydon. The outpatient clinics and day care facilities are located at Tamworth Road Resource Centre. Inpatient beds are located at Gresham 2 ward at the Bethlem Royal Hospital. The post holder will be expected to see clients in outpatient clinics, do home assessments, be involved with clients attending day care and also be responsible for inpatients admitted under the care of the Mid-Central team to the Bethlem Royal Hospital. There is an opportunity if the post holder is interested to get involved with the Croydon Community Mother and Baby Psychiatric team.

The post provides experience in managing most psychiatric disorders under supervision and of working in a community and inpatient setting.
